Need for Speed Shift is a fast-paced, slick looking racing game for Symbian phones.
The object of Need for Speed Shift is simple: finish the circuits faster than the other three drivers. In career mode, winning gives you cash which you can spend on upgrading your car to make it faster, or to buy a new car (there are eight real life vehicles in total to choose from). There's also a Quick Race mode where all cars are available to select.
Controlling your car in Need for Speed Shift is a straightforward affair. The vehicle auto-accelerates and you slow down by touching the brake button. You steer by tapping left or right of the car and there's a drift button to help with cornering.
Need for Speed Shift looks and sounds great. In fact, it's hard to think of another Nokia racing game with such slick 3D graphics and detailed backgrounds. The impressive visuals and super fast animation don't come without a price though, and Need for Speed Shift is very resource-hungry. It really requires a decent processor and you'll need to make sure you don't have a bunch of apps running while you're playing.
If you're into racing games and have a latest generation Symbian phone, Need for Speed Shift will give you hours of amusement.
